Play 4 Equality

Play4Equality is a narrative mobile game where the player takes part in a short story behind a simulated smartphone interface, through video calling, texting and social media. You play the role of a character in a group of high school friends who want to go to a beach house on vacation.
The game was developed by FunPunch Games and I had the honor to be part of this project as the main artist.

At this point we only had the descriptions/base of the friend group, so I started with a few explorations and possible dynamics since we also didn't have any key moments of the story decided. I sometimes like to start with faces both as a warm up but also as a way to get to know them better.
We already knew a few other members of their families who would possibly show up, Marta's abusive boyfriend, Ana's family, Antonio's girlfriend and his lil brother (who was my absolute favorite to design in case it wasn't obvious) + a few possible instagram posts.

The next step was figuring out their FaceTime poses, we gave each character a distinctive color palette and tried to show their personalities and tastes through these small windows.
They were all later animated by my supervisor Tiago Franco who did a killer job, might have even teared up watching them move!
(fun story: we later got more funding to add voices and my sister got chosen for Ana's voice)
By this point I was also working on the main character options, we wanted a diverse group of friends so their body shapes were chosen in comparison to the already existing characters.

At first the client only wanted 2 visual options for the main character (you choose your gender separately) but later on decided to add a more non binary version. In the game you interact with the characters in social media apps like instagram, where you got a glimpse of the gossip from school, saw what your friends were up to, comments etc. And together with a messaging app, it was where you saw the story unfolding.

Promotional image I did for when we launched the game.

Comics

The Relentless Adventure

Lainie Choi and Jane Robinson have more in common than they or anyone else might realize. To start, they’re both superheroes. Lainie is following in the fleet footsteps of her Silver Age speedster grandfather, Bullet, while Jane’s been trained by her father since she was 12 to replace him as a globe-trotting vigilante.Story: Jordan Alsaqa & Mark Stack

Letters: Lucas Gattoni

Late Night Snack

9 comic page I used as an excuse to play around with both colors and textures. I really like to play with food as a love language with Osamu and Suna, just feels very in character.

Bursting for You

This 3 page comic was made for the 2024 comic jam hosted by WebComicsHub, the theme was the word "bubble". I teamed up with my good friend Fish, she wrote the script & I brought it to life in a spam of two days because life got in the way.

The Owl House before For the Future

I dealt my waiting for the episodes on the last season of the Owl House very maturely, and by that I mean making fan comics of what I thought would happen.

Konbini run

We could choose one of the three prompts "konbini, pocky and confession" but I decided to use all of them. Crushing on your best friend sure is hard.
